Question: Is it hard to learn how to play guitar? And can someone give me tips?

Me and my friend are making a band, and well...I'm going to learn how to play guitar for it. Yeah... we obviously haven't found a bass player and a drummer.. but yeah. I'm really determined to do this, for myself and the band... I only know how to play the chromatic scale, and only on one string... but... that's a good start I suppose just.. can someone give me tips?

Answer: Guitar is a really easy instrument to learn. Unlike the trumpet, violin, flute, clarinet, and most other instruments, it doesn't take much talent to get a nice sound out of a guitar. A couple weeks of good practice and you should be pretty comfortable with at least 10-12 chords. If you practice regularly, you should be able to play a few thousand different songs within a month!

Seriously, it's THAT easy.

It takes a long time to master the instrument, but just learning a couple chords to play a few songs for your friends takes no time at all. I recommend that you find yourself a good teacher ASAP. That's always the quickest way to progress.
